Jason Orellana
Founder and Developer at Emphasis.LA
Jason graduated Valedictorian from ITT with an AS Software Development in 2016. After graduating, Jason started immersing himself in WordPress Web Development. He found that using WordPress, he could efficiently create unique websites without having to “reinvent the wheel” with every project.
Emphasis.LA was officially formed in December 2017 on the foundation of helping small businesses and non-profits expand their exposure from Los Angeles to the world.
The company name was inspired by the “em” tags used in HTML (language of all websites) to indicate matters of importance.
Jason handles each client with the utmost importance and so the name and logo were fitting. You can feel secure knowing that Emphasis.LA is handling your website locally, and personally, and that your success is our passion.
The Origin of our Name
Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) is the language that powers all websites. In HTML the “em” tag (written as <em>) stands for “emphasis”. In an HTML sentence or paragraph, any text written in between an opening (<em>) and closing (</em>) tag is italicized and stands out from the text in that sentence or paragraph; this draws attention and gives importance to the text between the “em” tags.
For Example:
<p>This is an HTML paragraph. Any text within “em” tags is given <em>emphasis</em>, which gives it importance and makes it stand out from other text in that sentence.</p>
Results in:
This is an HTML paragraph. Any text within “em” tags is given emphasis, which gives it importance and makes it stand out from other text in that sentence.
We think that giving Emphasis to small business and non-profit organizations is an excellent goal to aim for.
Your business should stand out, be seen, be heard.
Say it with emphasis!
